Middletown Senior Center COVID-19 Reopening Policies and Procedures

 

The Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA) has provided the following guidance to all Senior Community Centers (scc) and Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) ... Therefore, the county has mandated the following stipulations, in accordance with the Pa. rulings concerning openings.

ALL PERSONS MUST Follow these policies!

In accordance with The Pennsylvania Department of Aging (PDA} and the Area Agencies on Aging (AAA). The Center will not be Liable IF these rules are NOT followed.'** These policies include but not limited to:

  1. All participants visiting the Center will be required to fill out the COVID-19 Senior    Center participant Health Screening Form.

  2. ​All participants visiting the Center will be scan by a staff member who will serve      as the Pandemic Response Person (PRP) for the Middletown Senior Community    Center (MSCc).

Pandemic Response Personnel (PRP) Responsibilities will consist of:

  • Ensuring that participants entering is not experiencing symptoms. IF a person is found to have a temperature, that person WILL NOT BE ADMITTED!

  • Ensuring that participants are informed and understand the required social              distancing {6 feet ruling}

 

NOTE ON MEAL SERVICES

  •  The Center will not be able to provide congregate meals to all current                         participants, due to COVID-19 social distancing requirements. But the Center will provide grab-n-go or take out meals.

Overview of the occurrences during COVID19 period (March to Present).
      

Township's assistance:   

  • Top to Bottom cleaning and spraying done throughout the Center Building; done each week (3 times then twice then once a week).

  • A complete washing - air drying and sanitized all chairs, tables, as well as any movable type furniture.  Exercise - pool room

  • Supplied the Center with amble amount of disinfectants, hand sanitizers,
    Face Masks and wipes.


      Center Manager Lydia Konopka: 

  • Attained assistance through the Phl-COVID-19 Fund. Intended to purchase Suggested Supplies to furnish the center with Sanitary products. Such as Disposable Face Masks, Disposable Vinyl Gloves, etc.

  • Maintained the meals-on-Wheels: Making phone calls to our seniors and doing drive by for those in need. ​

​The center is closed on public holidays.
We also close for Neshaminy School District snow days.
